Last weekend: traveled to South Carolina to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of Community Baptist Church
Wednesday, October 27th: traveled back to Virginia & brought Grammy Whitcomb with us
Thursday, October 28th: did laundry, grocery shopping & unpacked and re-packed. Gave hugs & kisses to our kiddos & Grammy. Traveled to Culpepper, VA to our friend's house- where I am staying during Michael's surgery/recovery time.
Friday, October 29th: Surgery prep started at 9am. Surgery began at noon. Almost 5 hours later, I was relieved to hear from Dr. Friel that the surgery was completed. Two hours later, I was able to see him for the first time since 10:30am. His first words: "HURTS"
Saturday, October 30th: Michael is resting and finally has medication that is helping him manage the pain. His heartrate is also coming down- last night it was quite high due to a reaction to the pain and the medication he was given for the pain. He has been sleeping most of the day, but managed to get out of bed, sit in a chair and then walk across the room and back to his bed- a huge accomplishment for not being out of surgery for even 24 hours!
I am especially thankful for: our wonderful friends Ethan & Beth who have helped in countless ways (Ethan had the same disease, same surgery, same nurses at the same hospital- and we went to school together)
Also thankful for: the window side of the hospital room with a beautiful view of the mountains and bright fall colors.
We are very grateful for your prayers, phone calls, cards, texts and will try to update as I have the time.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.
Psalm 29:2
