They are smarter than we think!

So today I was getting ready to take Emma on a walk and asked her to go get my shoes. She looked at me, walked over to my closet, and picked up one of my tennis shoes and brought it right over to me. Then I asked her for the other one. She went to Michael's closet and picked up one of his tennis shoes. "Emma- that's daddy's shoe! Mine is in my closet right where you found the other one." She immediately dropped Michael's shoe, went to my closet, found the other one and brought it to me saying "tan-tu" the whole way. What a smart girl, I thought...

Fast forward to this afternoon.

After our walk, Emma took a very long nap. So long that I started to wonder if she was ok.
Then, right in the middle of teaching one of my lessons, Michael told me to come upstairs (in the kind of voice that I knew something was up).
Emma had awakened from her nap, so Michael went in to get her. Upon opening the door to her nursery, a stark naked Emma stood holding on to the side of the crib just looking at us with the biggest sad face ever. And the dirty diaper was over in the opposite corner of the crib. Thankfully, there wasn't too much of a mess. Emma seemed a little bit upset by the whole thing- it was almost like she thought she was in trouble.

Well, today was the last day that I put Emma down in her crib with just her diaper on, and...no pictures for this story...I'm sure you're laughing just imagining the whole thing anyway!

Oh, gross! I guess every baby has to do it once, don't they? Atleast Emma doesn't seem to have a taste for that kind of "stuff" (right?). :-)
