A stylin' alpaca! Although she looks like Cruella Deville, her name is "Cherry Pie".
until I put her down near them.
Emma loved the "cat!", Tiger.
Sundays are busy days for our family. We leave the house by 7:40am and are in Windsor the entire day. Usually we arrive home around 9pm. The Lord has been so gracious through many kind friends who open their homes to us for the afternoon so that we don't have to travel all the way back to VA Beach in between morning and evening services. It has also been a really nice way to get to know our people better, so we have enjoyed our Sundays- despite them being long! Today we were at Guy and Louise Bennett's house. After Emma woke up from her nap, I took her for a walk to Chris & Daryn Wingard's farm (Chris is Guy & Louise's daughter and they are faithful members of our church). They have horses, a pony, cats, german shepherds, chickens, mice(not pet ones), a few snakes here and there (not pets either), but mostly ALPACAS! They are such funny creatures- full of personality and their fiber is incredibly soft! Just don't get one mad at you, or they will spit a stinky vomit-like substance goop at you! (and, no, I've haven't been spit on yet).
Emma loved all the animals- mostly from a distance rather than up close. Except for the kitty, Tiger. Emma had no fear to chasing her around and squealing with delight when she got close! Mr. Daryn's tractor was another big hit for Emma. Maybe she'll get one for Christmas.
The first time we visited Cornerstone Alpaca Farm was right after they were shorn. I wish I had my camera then! Hopefully we'll be there for the big event this year- and this time I'll have my camera ready!
