This week I was so excited to find 4 Baby Einstein DVDs on craigslist for $15! Up until now, Annie has let us borrow Titus' Baby Beethoven- which Emma absolutely loves. We've tried other cartoon movies, but she only sits through the Baby Einstein ones. She was sooo excited to see her new "einsteins".
Yesterday we were informed by a dear lady in our church that there was a winter storm warning in effect for Windsor. She graciously offered her home for us to stay there on Saturday night so we didn't have to drive in a mess on Sunday morning. So we headed last evening, preparing for the worst. The forcast called for 2-4", icy conditions and very cold temps. Sunday School and choir practice were cancelled, just to play it safe. We woke up Sunday morning to a beautiful, clear (and very cold) winter day...with about 1/2" of snow on the ground and completely clear roads. On Saturday night I had to stop in Food Lion to get Emma diapers and it looked as if a tornado had ripped through. The winter storm was a false alarm, but atleast the people of Windsor have plenty of bread and milk...that's about how exciting it gets here as far as the weather is concerned!
Anyway, we had such a nice time with Carolyn. She spoiled us all and we enjoyed our time with her. As you can see from the pictures, Emma was in hog-heaven. Carolyn gave her a whole bag of goldfish all to herself.
Michael grew up with John & Darla--- and we always enjoy getting to spend time with them. Since they were on a mini family vacation, they spent Friday night at our house for dinner and we watched Gabe and Emma play together (very entertaining).
On Saturday we attended the Seminary Winter Banquet at Regent's Swan Terrace. As always, the food was delicious and it was great to catch up with friends and make new ones. It's encouraging to hear the testimonies from faculty and students of how the Lord has shown himself so strong! This is the last time (sniff sniff) we'll be able to enjoy the banquet as seminary students!
Michael kinda chuckled at me when I told him that I wanted to get a picture of him on his first day of his last semester of seminary, but sweetly allowed me to be sentimental and capture the momentous occasion. Although he still has this semester to complete his M.Div., we already feel the excited anticipation of completion. School has always been a big part of our married life...what it will be like after May!?! Praise the Lord for his goodness throughout the years in seminary. We've seen Him provide and give abundant grace. I'm so very thankful for my sweet husband for making these years pretty easy for me, and proud of him (in a good way) for persevering through the many hours of studying, reading, memorizing terms, balancing work and home life, providing for our family, struggling through difficult sickness etc. May the Lord continue to receive the praise for what He does through our lives!

Congrats to Michael on his last semester!!! yeah! And yes, post-seminary life is wonderful. Sometimes when Nate and I are hanging out in the evenings, we try to remember what it was like to have him studying all night. Yuk! Emma's such a cutie. I would just love to see her and Adrianna play together. Are you going to try to go to our class reunion? I'm not sure yet. It would be so fun to see you though!
Gabe enjoyed his time with his girlfriend 'Memma. We had a wonderful visit and mini-vacation. Thanks for opening your home for dinner and fellowship.
John, Darla, and Gabe
