Congrats to our sweet friends Mark, Annie and Titus Brunbaugh on their newest addition---welcome Ezra David! We kinda got to play a small role in his arrival since we were taking care of Titus at our house while little brother was born. Despite Annie's valient efforts to keep all sickness out of their house especially near her due date, Emma got woke up with a runny nose on Monday (Titus had spent the night here), and then Titus woke up with a runny nose Tuesday. Then I started getting stuffed up. I wanted to go to the hospital sooo badly to see Annie & baby Ezra, but I didn't want to get them sick, so I waited another day until I was feeling better. But somehow Annie got sick anyway. So sorry Annie. Next time just let the kids run around barefoot and without hats and mittens- and they will probably be fine!
We had a little family night out last Friday. It was so much fun. Emma rode on the carousel once before with her friend Victoria and loved it, so we decided to take her for another ride. This was Michael's first time watching her try to take it all in, so I took pictures and he "rode" with her. He said she kept saying "whoOOOoooo! weeeEEEeee!" as her horsey went up and down.
Emma update: We have been amazed and entertained to watch Emma learn and change so much each day. She still loves books, but currently her favorite is "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?". We read it atleast 5 times each day and she has sound effects for every page.
Emma loves to "help" around the house. It makes me laugh to find her doing something she has seen me do before. I was loading the dishwasher a couple days ago and I heard her grunting behind me. She had opened the cabinet under the sink and was carrying the dishwasher detergent over to the dishwasher. What a big helper she is becoming :)
Now she has started to count- well sorta in a very unorderly way. It's quite humorous actually, because she consistently loves the numbers 2, 3 and 9. Last week if you asked "how old are you Emma?" she would quickly respond "two". This week if you asked her how old she is, she says "tree". Already lying about her age, oh dear. Today she found a pack of tic tacs in her diaper bag, brought them to me and asked please. So I said "only one". and she said "tree(3)". Oh the joys of parenthood!
