ahhhh! our VAN has quirks too.

uh, this picture has absolutely nothing with the title of my post, but I am thoroughly enjoying the vibrant changes of color that I view from right out of my kitchen window (and I'm there quite a bit since we don't have a dishwasher :).So on to what pertains to the actual blog title:

Tonight we were headed out to our young adults fellowship. I had just finished buckling in Emma. Michael pushed the button for the automatic door to close on Elliot's side. It went forward a little, then opened back up and then did the same thing several times more. Michael tried to manually shut it himself and suddenly we heard the horrible sound of metal grating against metal. The door continued to open as Michael tried to get it to stop; as he was doing that, I ran around the back side of the van to see what was happening. Right as I approached the back left side, the window literally exploded into a million pieces. Glass went flying everywhere. It hit both Michael and I but neither of us were hurt. I just stood there staring blankly at Michael in utter shock for a few seconds, I think. Then Emma started to scream- poor child has been through some traumatic times over the past couple weeks! She was not hurt, but the loud bang got her pretty upset.

Elliot wasn't hurt either- which was definitely the Lord's hand of protection on him. He still is in the rear facing car seat and the window that shattered was facing him. God protected our little guy- no scratches, but there were shards of glass in his seat!

Without going into a long drawn out story of what the Lord has been doing in my heart this week, there is no doubt in my mind that He did this to prove Himself to me. And so, even though we are temporarily out of a vehicle (for me and the kids. Michael has his truck still) this event has actually brought a wonderful peace and assurance to my heart and mind. We watched God protect us tonight and now we excitedly wait and watch Him provide for us.
God is good.
ALL the time, God is GOOD!!!

That is a lot of (unwanted) excitement for your family. We are happy that the Lord is protecting you. You have our prayers. Darla.
