While Traveling...

Michael and I were reminiscing on our trip down to SC this past Christmas about what it was like to travel without kids. I would stay up late the night before we left and do all the packing. Michael would drive the entire trip as I slept. . .

My, how times have changed! Well, I still stay up late packing and Michael still is the designated driver, but with two little ones, catching some zzz's is definetely not guaranteed in the car. We get creative along the way- hence you'll see that Michael thought it a good idea to give Emma a piece of gum for the first time as we rode. I was super vigilant to make sure it stayed in her mouth and then got distracted. The gum disappeared and she told me she swallowed it (which, in this case is hopefully true b/c otherwise it is somewhere waiting to melt in the van!)

We only stopped once on the way down. I'm sure that will change once Emma is potty trained! We splurged a while ago and got an adapter for Michael's laptop so Emma could watch her dvd's- a great, great help for road trips with kids!

I guess I'm getting off track here. This is some footage taken on our recent trip. Emma sometimes gets her words backwards and it can be quite amusing, even, um, well, let's just say that she unknowingly has said some big no no words since she can't say everything clearly yet. Watch the whole clip, the mix up word is at the very end. It took Michael and I a long while to figure out what she was saying when we first heard her saying this at the dinner table a few nights previous. Enjoy...
