For f a m i l y "date" last night, we decided to go and get a little pool for our backyard. Emma was ecstatic and couldn't wait until she woke up this morning so she could play in the water. Elliot sat on a beach blanket playing with some toys and watched- seeming completely uninterested in what was transpiring while Emma and I unfolded the pool and filled it with water. He eventually crawled over behind my chair and ever so hesitantly observed the action from a safe and dry distance. The water was pretty cold, even though it was warm outside. It didn't keep Emma from getting right in though!
I filled a couple of buckets with water and set them in front of Elliot to see what he would do. It didn't take long for him to discover that he loved to splash and dump the water out on himself!
After playing with the buckets for a while, it seemed like he was trying to get in the pool by himself, so we took him in...and he loved it!
He kept dipping his hands in the water and getting little drinks
