"3 in August"

If anyone were to ask Emma "How old are you?" Her reply would be "Three in August."! Emma has been looking forward to her birthday for MONTHS! She could hardly stand the anticipation of going to bed the night before her special day. I heard her wake up and come out of her room on Saturday morning (6:30am), but she didn't come into our bedroom like usual. Curious to what she was doing, I got up and found her sitting at her place at the dining room table---eating the candy that I had put out in little jars and a huge smile on her face. You only turn three once, right?!? Go ahead and eat candy for breakfast then. We basically celebrated her birthday all day long with just our family here at home. I didn't think I'd be able to handle throwing a big party for her at this point in my pregnancy and boy am I'm glad that I didn't try to. She was just as happy- knowing full well that it was her day. We still went all out and had streamers, balloons, a birthday crown, birthday signs, candy, cake, ice cream, a pinata and even pin the tail on the donkey. She kept telling us "this is such a fun day".
We love our little girl, and can't believe she is already three years old. We finished our "party day" by pulling out the video of when she was born and watching it all together in our pj's. Emma thought that was great and wanted to watch it over and over again. We are so thankful for you, Emma Grace. And we pray continually that you will choose to love and serve God with all our your heart when you understand what He has done for you.
