hello calories...

So, since Michael's new diet restrictions (no wheat and very limited dairy)- I have not been as faithful going to Farm Fresh every Wednesday night to capitalize on their deal of doubling coupons up to $1 for the day. Seems like most of the deals I could get would either contain wheat or dairy, or both, so it hasn't always been worth the time and effort or money. But since we have a baby on the way, and I know it will be really helpful to have some easy, quick foods for the kids (and for whoever is going to take care of them while we are in the hospital), I was hoping to find some good deals today. And wow! There were some great deals! My total should have come to $130, but with coupons and rebates(which the store didn't have yet, so the manager gave me a gift card instead) I spent $50 for all of this. After setting all of this food out, I just sat at the kitchen table and laughed because we have not had this much processed food in our house for a VERY long time. I'm easily humored these days (also easily irritated)...
Anyways, I'm thankful that God provided these things for us at a time when it will be needed. I think it will last quite. a. while. Now tomorrow, my project will be cleaning out the pantry and reorganizing because all this stuff needs a spot. This morning was my 37 week appointment with the midwife. The whole crew came along because we knew we would be getting a sneak peek at Ethan via ultrasound! My check-up went well. Ms. Pat says that baby is in the right position and ready to go. I've been feeling pretty uncomforable lately since there is a lot of pressure on my lower back. I was positive that I had put on a few pounds since I feel much more like I'm waddling this past week, but I was happy to find out I lost 2 pounds. I have a few more things to do before being all the way ready for his arrival, so I'm hoping he stays put for a couple more weeks- back pain and all. Emma is holding the pictures of baby Ethan here, while Elliot is disgruntled because Emma isn't giving him the pictures to hold and Michael is just being a good sport for my picture taking.
Waiting to see the midwife.
Emma brought her baby along. She and her baby have been inseparable for the past week or so. It is absolutely precious to see her care for her baby- although baby has been misbehaving quite a bit lately, according to her little mommy.
Michael and I are glad that it is our responsibility to name our children. The other day I asked Emma what her baby's name was. After a short thoughtful pause, she answered: "Biliken".
Yep, Biliken. The midwife asked her the same question today and Emma's reply was still "Biliken". A name that I thought she would probably forget and think of something else creative. Or normal, like Sarah, or Sally, or Jessica...
Meet "Biliken":
One of Elliot's favorite things to do is get up on Emma's bed and "jump" and throw himself down from the pillows. You can just sense the sheer joy he gets from this by looking at his expression here!
Well, there's Biliken again.
Two happy, beautiful children. And one more about to make an arrival...Eating cheerios on a Sunday morning. What a little studmuffin!! And, yes, he got another haircut. It was his fourth haircut. His hair grows soo fast- like Daddy's- so I've gotten over being sentimental about cutting it short for summertime. But, oops! I used the wrong attachment to the clippers and it's pretty short.
