Friday nights have been our "date night" since we got married- we always look forward to a day that is completely set aside for just us (and now sometimes we have a little extra company named Emma). The clouds cleared up and no rain came, so we enjoyed going to the Neptune Festival at the Boardwalk. The sand sculptures were amazing! I took several pictures, but my camera won't do it justice! Emma loved being pulled around in her wagon and was very content the whole time. After a bit, we let her out to walk around a little, and then that's all she wanted to do- walk! There were lots of vendors there- a very interesting assortment of aromas as we walked- gyros, chicken on a stick, hot wings, all kinds of hot dogs, funnel cakes, fried grease, grease and more grease! We ate before we went, thankfully. On the way home we stopped at Five Below to get an iPod cover for Michael. I've been bugging him about getting one ever since his first iPod went through the wash. Oh, you didn't hear about that?! Some of my family helped pitch in with me to get Michael an iPod for his birthday. He had just uploaded a few songs, and had only used it a couple times...I opened the washer and began putting clothes into the dryer. I noticed the headphones, first and thought- "oh no! he forgot to take his headphones out of his pocket"...but as I pulled on those, I realized that they were still attached to the iPod. Needless to say, the iPod suffered some severe personality changes. A couple weeks later, Michael told the story to Greg- a fellow seminary student who works at Apple- and he was able to get Michael a brand new one! We are so thankful, and are much more careful now. So that's the iPod story.
Today is the seminary picnic- our LAST ONE! and tomorrow we have a busy day as usual being all day in Windsor. So I better get busy...
