Through all of the hurt, I've seen and tasted the goodness of the LORD. But what has been even more impressionable in my heart is the sickness of sin, plain rejection and defamation of the name of Christ. As I've recently been exposed to the ugly face of the destruction- reaking sin, my heart has been overwhelmed by the wholeness and truth of God's Word.
Recognizing the seriousness of the matter makes my stomach churn. Knowing the biblical consequences to such actions burden my heart heavy with sorrow. I've had a restless night of sleep at best- and knowing my spirit needs to be rejuvenated by the grace of God, I've been up for a while- pleading before God and allowing my spirit to be refreshed and ministered through music that glorifies His name. Many of you are familiar with the words of
O Great God- how powerful- how comforting. He is worthy to be praised! My own words are inadequate to express my heart, but this song sums it up:
O Great God of highest heav'n, occupy my lonely heart.
Own it all and reign supreme. Conquer every rebel pow'r.
Let no voice, nor sin remain that resists your holy war.
You have loved and purchased me, make me Yours forevermore.
I was blinded by my sin, had no ears to hear your voice.
Did not know your love within, had no taste for heaven's joys.
Then your Spirit gave me life, opened up your Word to me.
Through the Gospel of your Son, gave me endless hope and peace.
Help me now to live a life that's dependent on your grace.
Keep my heart and guard my soul from the evils that I face.
You are worthy to be praised- with my every thought and deed
O Great GOD of highest heaven, glorified your name will be!

Nina,
I haven't heard any latest details, but I am praying for you and the situation. I know my family is too. It will be exciting how God turns this out for His glory. And I've admired your Christ-like attitude through it all. Hope you can sleep better tonight!!!
Nina, I love this song and it is such an encouragement to see how you are relying on God during these trying times. We continue to pray! Thanks for your sweet example!
Love, Christy
